A man of value

January 22nd, 2010 by Clifton Hatfield

I am a quotes buff who loves to read through sayings and writings from famous actors, comedians, scientists, thinkers, and anyone with a good head on their shoulders. Today I want to talked about one in particular that I regard as a favorite of mine, “Try not to become a man of success but rather to become a man of value.” by the German born physicist Albert Einstein. You probably know of him from his theories of special relativity and general relativity or that he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in the year 1921.

Try not to become a man of success but rather to become a man of value. Think about that for a minute and what it means to you. As I read it, I know that he is not referring to man on a gender basis but rather a reference to any person with the drive to better themselves and anyone around them. Continue Reading

I have a dream…

January 18th, 2010 by Clifton Hatfield
Martin Luther King Jr.

Martin Luther King Jr.

Today is a day given to remember one of the greatest civil rights activists of our nation, Martin Luther King Jr. In 1964, King became the youngest person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize for his work to end racial segregation and racial discrimination through civil disobedience and other non-violent means. A task
that no one should ever have to bare on their shoulders but he did because he had a dream!

Every morning I wake and think today is going to be a great day. It gets me motivated to accomplish any tasks I am faced with during the day and pushes me to drive toward my dreams and goals.

Today has a special meaning because it is a reminder that even the farthest goals can be obtained with a positive drive to meet them. So I encourage you to keep driving forward, much like Martin Luther King Jr. because he had a dream too and that dream changed our world forever.

To your success,
Clifton Hatfield

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. – Martin Luther King Jr.

January 18th, 2010 by Clifton Hatfield

As a professional web developer, I am constantly seeking to remain up-to-date on the latest trends on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and useful strategies to improve my blog’s Search Engine Results Position (SERP) as well as my many other websites.

Google

So if you are like me and use WordPress as your blog’s publishing platform I have an amazing plugin that will help you get your website into the database of all popular search engines such as Google and Bing. It is the Google XML Sitemap plugin for WordPress.

Google XML Sitemap is a WordPress plugin that will generate a special XML sitemap which will help search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo and Ask.com to better index your blog. With such a sitemap, it’s much easier for the crawlers to see the complete structure of your site and retrieve it more efficiently. The plugin supports all kinds of WordPress generated pages as well as custom URLs. Additionally it notifies all major search engines every time you create a post about the new content. Are You a Tigger or an Eeyore?

January 17th, 2010 by Clifton Hatfield

Be a Tigger!

About two years ago I was introduced, by a friend of mine, to a video on YouTube that opened my eyes. A video that I quickly shared with everyone in my family and all of my friends. I watched as social media spread the viral clip like wild fire…an amazing success.

Randy Pausch was a professor at Carnegie Mellon University when he was diagnosed with a terminal case of pancreatic cancer in September 2006. He gave an upbeat lecture entitled “The Last Lecture: Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams” on September 18, 2007 which then became a hit on YouTube. On July 25, 2008, we lost Randy to pancreatic cancer but the message in his words have and will live on. Continue Reading

Do you flip?

Flip Video Mino

I recently purchased “The Flip” ultra series camcorder on Amazon because I was in need to make quick videos on the go and could not carry a large camcorder in my pockets.

I purchased my Flip camera on Amazon because I was able to receive a free shipping offer and with Amazon, I always receive my purchases within days, even a lot faster than their estimation delivery. They were also running a good offer, so I saved a few bucks.

The Flip digital video camera is probably one of the best purchase I have made in a long time. It’s a digital camcorder which can hold up to 60mn of videos, which translates of 1 GB in internal memory. Continue Reading

Get your blog on Facebook

January 7th, 2010 by Clifton Hatfield

Facebook currently has over 350 million users…let me say that again…Facebook currently has over 350 million users. An even more impressive fact is that of those 350 million users, 50% of them log into their Facebook account every single day. Wow! If that isn’t an astonishing feat…what is?

Let’s imagine you had a billboard along an interstate where 175 million people drove by it every day and you could update your billboard as often as you would like..once a day..twice a day..whenever. And you want to know the best part?! It’s FREE! Continue Reading
