Hello Andy and welcome to my blog. I appreciate you stopping by for some information.

After creating a Facebook Page, visit the Page and click on the Suggest To Friends link under the Page photo. From there, you will be able to select which friends you would like to send an invite to 'Like' your page. Once they have liked you page, you will be able to deliver great content to them through Facebook notifications.

I am working on a video tutorial for this as well. I hope that helps! Thanks again

I would like to see more info on how to actually promote this fan page, like an easy tutorial on how to suggest to people or off facebook ways if you have any.

Thanks for the info. I landed here through Gavin Mountford's blog

Hi Clifton,
I agree with what Gavin wrote above. I think now that FB has changed its parameters related to our business pages, the potential to get more exposure for what we do is greater.

Having just set up my FB business page, I missed the whole "fan" era and will only know the "like" going forward.

Thanks for your explanations and insights into these techie things!

Mary Lou

Hi Clifton,

The liking button is definitely going to help us with 'fan pages' have more people following us. It seems like much less of a commitment for people to like something rather than 'become a fan'

I just wrote a quick post about this here:

http://www.gavinmountford.com/facebook-marketing-secrets/do-you-like-my-new-fan-page-what-does-it-mean/

It's definitely an interesting move on Facebook's part, and one that I feel will have more people liking more pages.

We, as page owners will have more exposure because of this so it's a win win situation for all.

'I like it' :-)

Hey Clifton... Great post!

Facebook can be a little confusing to navigate at times... it seems that everything is always in a constant state of flux.

You've made it a little easier to understand the "why's" behind FB's change of format and the thinking that drives these type of revisions.

Thanks for sharing this info... explaining is one thing, you made it clear.

Thanks for writing this Clifton. I think a lot of people will not have any idea of what they are actually signing up for when they click "Like". They won't know that all of those things can happen and they could be surprised. It is really helpful to have this notice in case you come on a page that you don't want to continue with. Now you'll know not to click like even if you did like it.

For some reason the comment box keeps putting up last week's blog.
My real latest blog is:

Thanks for being there and being so helpful.

Clifton,
I'm wondering what impact this will have on Social Media. Will this turn Fan Pages into sites with less weight and presence? Steep learning curve here.
Thanks for the heads-up,
Val
