How Do You Make Something Go Viral?

YouTube Viral

YouTube Sensation

Since the launch of the web, there has been content launched viral to the moon and back. Sometimes it’s great and sometime it’s not so great, which of course makes it that much better. But how do you make something like a video go viral? Well, the power of email was the original fuel for viral content. Then, the largest video sharing website, YouTube.com, quickly over threw email when it comes to instant viral success.

There are a few things you need to remember when creating content to go viral. First, your best option is to stick with video. Video has quickly has turned into a YouTube sensation that can spread like wild fire. A two minute or less video that is funny, inspirational, and above all – decently produced. If you are on the beach during a windy day, it will be a video of the beach on a windy day…not good.

Videos go viral

Videos go viral because they are funny, catchy, or inspirational. Do you have any idea for a viral video? Run it by your friends first. Ask your family if they think it’s funny. If they do, chances are good that someone else will to and will want to share the humor. Is the idea for an inspirational video? Is it a current event? What are people’s reaction to the topic? Answering these questions will help you to know if your video has a chance at making the limelight.

Once you have your outstanding video put together and ready for the world to see, share it with your friends on Facebook and your followers on Twitter. Encourage them to share it as well. Number one rule, make sure the video is actually good before you do or the plan just might backfire on you. Goodluck!

    Clifton,
Great post about creating video that could go viral. It’s amazing what videos get sent around again and again. Funny is not my long suit. I’ll leave that to others. LOL

What’s happenin Phil? Thanks for the feedback. I like your blog, very cool. Making videos was something that took me some time to get used to but with practice it comes much easier. Just be natural and have fun with it. I carry a Flip camera around with me or use the HD camera on my Droid X. Video is the way to deliver your message.

    Hi Clifton

We are looking to splash our kiosk all over the web it in short is a music kiosk we have nearly 10 million tracks available for download. Unlike on iTunes or downloading from the net you can only download from our kiosk in public places. They can be found and will be found in all types of places like the red box is fast food chains, all types of retailers and hotel chains even cruise ship lines and amusement parks to name a few. so our kiosk is a social event as much as anything but even though the music cost the same as I tunes etc … with ad promotions and promo deals of all kinds including coupon deals our tracks can cost as little as nothing to 49 to 69 cents.

any advice or help is appreciated.
