WordPress 3.0 “Thelonious” is Finally Here!!

If you are nervous to update your version of WordPress because of possible compatibility issues with your plugins, then wait. I personally did not wait and did not have any issues but I run my entire blog off 5 plugins. Kimberly Catleberry of JustAskKim.com suggests waiting for all plugins to be compatible with WordPress 3.0. This is especially for beginner bloggers. However, not all plugins are still supported so you may never receive an update for them. It’s ok to wait for plugins to become compatible but for me the pros of version 3.0 out weighs the cons of outdated unsupported plugins.

Imagine losing everything you have worked SO hard to build….it happens all of the time. So I suggest to be better safe than sorry. I have put together a quick video on how to perform a full backup of your server that includes ALL of your files, subdomains, emails, stats, databases, and basically everything on your hosting account. A WordPress plugin will not backup everything because it will only backup your WordPress files and it’s database.

Using an image within your blog post can be a great way to add more of a visual aid or simulate your articles. Not only do images enhance a post visually but they can really help with your SEO (search engine optimization) to get your blog on the first page of Google. When uploading a photo to your WordPress blog, make sure to always title your photo with brief keywords. The title will appear as a tooltip when your visitor hovers their mouse over the image. The alternate text is used inside of the alt attribute in the image tag (HTML). This will help with Google indexing your blog’s images by reading the alternative text.
